Myriam standing behind a large fig tree

Hello and welcome! I’m Myriam!

I am so thankful for the opportunity to journey with you. Come with me in the garden and we’ll go grab what we need for a good, home-cooked dinner. Then, let’s cook in the kitchen together!

Between raising 5 kids, gardening, cooking, being an entrepreneur and wife of a great entrepreneur—life is never boring. What a gift it is!

Sweet Family Roots is about enjoying the flavors of real food made with wholesome ingredients. It is also about family and the heritage (roots) we leave through good recipes, values, and beyond. We are not perfect—far from it—and God threads His gift of grace and humor even in the harder seasons.

From basics to more complicated—let’s grow together in the garden, in the kitchen, and as parents!

None of us will ever by done learning. I hope this site will encourage your to pursue gardening knowledge! In my classes, I like to remind students that nothing is wasted in the garden. The new gardening experiments will either be successes or a story. 🙂 Even if something ends up in the compost pile, you often grow your knowledge and skillset.

Happy growing, my friends.

About me…

I grew up on a farm in Canada.
I love all things delicious…especially if they are from inside a chocolate factory.
We don’t live on acreage. Sometimes we would like to, but it’s not for right now. We live in the suburbs and I garden in raised beds, in ground, and in containers, all over our property.

Our 5 kids are our greatest blessing and greatest responsibility. It’s a lot and our hands are full – full of good things.
I feel God’s presence the most when He provides an unexpected gift of humor. Laughter and witty moments are simply the best.
